Founding Story: A Legacy Unveiled

Brewing Legacy

Established in 1956 in Santa Maria la Carità by Don Giovanni Iovine, Nutis Srl calls the quaint village, nestled within the Naples borough just behind the Bay of Sorrento, its home. The locale provides an ideal backdrop for our business growth, benefitting from the fusion of Neapolitan coffee culture and an unwavering passion for the pursuit of excellence.

Currently helmed by the third generation of the Iovine family, Giovanni Iovine serves as the Chief Executive of the company and is the visionary behind the Barbaro Caffè brand. While ushering in contemporary elements, he has successfully preserved the familial and artisan spirit of production, ensuring a continued commitment to crafting quality blends in accordance with the Neapolitan tradition of espresso.

Iovine remains committed to the creation of new products, tailored to meet the evolving needs of a market in constant flux, all while maintaining a steadfast dedication to the essence of Neapolitan espresso tradition.

From Neapolitan Shores to American Shores: A Coffee Tale

Naples to America

During the early 2000s, Sir Cirillo initiated a voyage to extend his exploration beyond the Neapolitan shores. His endeavors led him to various regions, encompassing China, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East.

Driven by a vision to promote Neapolitan coffee and its cultural richness, Sir Cirillo persisted in his mission. Ultimately, he made a momentous decision to introduce this lively coffee culture to the vibrant city of New York City.

It was within this dynamic metropolis that Caffe Barbaro transcended from being an Italian brand to achieving global recognition. Our coffee narrates a cultural tale that resonates far beyond its Neapolitan origins, symbolizing the essence of a rich and globally celebrated coffee experience.
